Candy is a sweetie, super sweet, we should say. She is about 4 years old and has had several owners who shuffled her from home to home, so she has never had the real home a dog deserves. She is housetrained and good with children. Toys can be easily taken from her mouth as you can see in the video. She is very eager to please and responds well to commands, so she will be a star in any obedience training class. This angel has been at the shelter since December 21, and keeps getting overlooked. She is a staff favorite and will be an asset to any family searching for a loyal, intelligent companion.She has an advocate in a volunteer who comes specifically to spend time and do some training with Candy. Candy tested positive for heartworms and will have to be treated after she is adopted. Candy is a wonderful female with a stellar disposition. She is good with children, housetrained and knows basic commands.
The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter adoption fee is $67. Fee includes at least one round of vaccinations, mandatory spay/neuter surgery, heartworm test, and microchip.
