Pippa the pit bull was rescued on Louisiana Highway xxxx, a lonely road to Donaldsonville skirting the Mississippi River. Her rescuer saw her on a particularly empty stretch, with no sign of life for several miles, just curled up beside the road in the early evening. The next morning she was still there, patiently waiting. Her rescuer pulled the car next to her and tried to get her in, but she had a broken back leg (now surgically repaired and completely functional). Again patient and sweet, she allowed herself to be dragged into the back seat and dragged out again two more times before being taken to the doctor, all without complaint or even a whimper. Even the veterinary staff commented on her sweetness and stoicism. Pippa is now and explosive bundle of energy, desperate for human love and attention. Her rescuer, now a widower downsizing dramatically, cannot keep her, but wants to get the home she deserves. Pippa loves people but is scrappy with other dogs, so she should have a one-dog family with a fenced yard, since she needs her exercise. She has had all her vaccinations and only needs love and attention. Pippa is EXTREMELY affectionate with people but would do best in a home with no other dogs or cats.
